You’ll Be Smelling of Roses

IMG_3307

Ok, so I know it has been a while, and I always have some excuse, but this time I’d rather not go into the excuses and just crack on with my very first post of the new year. I wanted to go back to what I know best and that’s beauty products. This one is something special everyone. Introducing Rose Jam by Lush. Let’s just give you a quick little background story; My love for lush first started way back in the early 00’s when my Mum first took me into one. Us beauty junkies will always remember, the first time the smell of Lush hits your nostrils. Even though my love petered out a little, the purchase of a brand new home with my other half, with a lovely new shower and bath had me running back to check out what goodies I’d been missing out on.

This shower gel caught my eye immediately. It’s like Lush read my mind, in regards to what I love in a scent and came up with this.  I adore anything with a rose or floral scent, so this was a great start. But with a dash of lemon in there to balance the fragrance out perfectly so, that its not too sickly sweet and the name might suggest. Really I think they should just rename it ‘Bailey Jam’. It lathers to a nice foam and makes shaving a breeze. The other great side to this is that on me the scent lingers, so if I am having a rare day where I’m wanting to save my Jo Malone, its the perfect subtle substitute.

If you are a fan of floral or rose scented items, I urge you to pop into your local Lush and give this a whiff, I promise you, you wont be disappointed. I’m certainly going to be popping in to stock up on the big bottle of this. I also noticed they do a bath bomb and body lotion in the same scent. It’s like the rose garden heavens are calling to me to come and get them… Bye, Bye money.

Well that’s me for this very quick beauty bite.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This…

I’m a little late to the party on this one, however I’m so glad because ‘better late than never’ is definitely relevant in this case. For this edition of ‘The Beauty Bite’ here is a quick harp on about how much I am in love with this product. So, without further ado, introducing my new love the ‘This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray’.

thisworks

I’ve had this little number for around 2 weeks. It came into my possession after an order went a little awry over at feelunique.com and they gave me a £12 voucher for my next order. Immediately I knew what I was going to spend my £12 on. I’ve wanted to try this out for years and the £16 price point has always held me back. However this will not be holding me back any longer.

As someone that works shift work and odd hours my sleep is very precious, as I’m sure it is for most. Anything to aid a good nights sleep is more than ok in my books. This spray really does work. With the likes of Lavender oil, Vetivert and Wild Camomile mixed in there, you couldn’t really go wrong (unless you hate any of those then I’d steer clear). I’m not sure weather its the ritual of spraying a couple of mists of this onto my pillow at night, that is helping me sleep better or if it’s a placebo effect or the mix of the essential oils but something in this little baby is doing the trick. I’ve noticed that falling asleep is far easier and the sleep that I am having is much, much deeper.

This product is so good in fact, that my boyfriend is even leaning forward so that I can spray his pillow at night too.He swears it’s helping him sleep too so much so, he’s even now looking at getting the gift set with the candle and a spray for himself (he’d kill me if he knew I was telling you this hehe). Over all this gets 5 gigantic Stars in my book and definitely worth a check out. I got mine over at feelunique they do free worldwide shipping for all orders over £10 too and as I said for us NZ girls, if you want to give this a wee sniff I’ve seen it in Mecca Cosmetica. Now, to go get me a travel size for my overnights!

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm

Lipbalm

I’m going to try start a series of posts where I do a short review on a product I’m really into at the moment. The first winner of my Beauty Bite award is this Lip Balm By Nuxe. I purchased mine from Feelunique.com, for around $18-$20 NZD including P&P. After reading and hearing rave reviews on this little gem, I had to get my paws on it and boy oh boy was I pleased. I usually like to give a product a while before I declare my undying love, but this one had me at hello.

I noticed a difference in the texture of my lips after the first application. It has a thick consistency, which might not be to everyones liking, but personally this is a huge plus, it really makes me feel like my lips are being thoroughly nourished. It takes a little while to sink into the lips but that too is A ok with me. It has a combination of honey and precious oils (according to the website) which really work deep down to restore chapped, dry lips. It also has a delicious citrus flavour, which is down to the grapefruit essence. I’m a little bit of a lip balm fiend and I have to say when it comes to lip balm I’ve definitely had a fair share in my time. This by far is my all time favourite and something I will continue to use for a very very long time. My lips look not only plumped and kissable but there’s not a bit of flakey skin in sight.

So for this Beauty Bite I’m awarding the Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm a life changing 5 out of 5. You are pretty awesome my friend, and don’t you ever change!

Thanks so much for reading,
